Power Distribution Panels
Industrial power distribution panels that take a service feed and split it into protected branches, with overcurrent protection, grounding, and ratings documented.
These are the panels that make everything downstream possible and get the least attention until something trips. We size the main and the branches against your real connected load, lay out the bus and grounding so it can be inspected and serviced, and document the interrupting ratings. Where a facility feed and a machine load meet, we handle the transition — transformers, surge protection, and disconnect means included.
What's typically in one
- Main disconnect or main breaker sized to the service
- Branch circuit protection sized to connected load with spare positions
- Control power transformers with primary and secondary protection
- Grounding and bonding laid out for inspection and service access
- Surge protection and metering where the application calls for it
Who asks us for these
- Facilities adding equipment beyond what the existing panelboard can feed
- Integrators delivering a turnkey line that needs its own distribution
- Manufacturers building out new production cells
Common questions
- Do you do the load calculations?
- Yes. Give us the connected loads — or a list of the equipment — and we'll size the feed, the main, and the branches, and tell you what service you need at the wall.
- Can this be combined with motor control in one enclosure?
- Often, yes, and it's usually cheaper than two boxes. We'll tell you during scoping whether the heat, the segregation requirements, and the service access make a combined panel a good idea for your application.
