Junction Boxes & Daughter Boxes
Junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, and daughter boxes that move field terminations closer to the equipment and keep your main control panel serviceable.
A daughter box is one of the cheapest ways to make a system easier to build and easier to change: field devices land nearby, a single multiconductor or Ethernet run goes back to the main panel, and the next machine change is a short pull instead of a long one. We build these to match the parent panel's numbering scheme so the two drawing sets read as one system.
What's typically in one
- Remote IO drops, marshalling terminals, or straight junction terminations
- Terminal numbering that continues the main panel's scheme
- Enclosure ratings matched to the field environment, including washdown
- Cable glands, conduit hubs, and entry planning for the actual routing
- Drawings that tie back to the parent panel's schematic
Who asks us for these
- Integrators reducing home-run wiring on a long machine or line
- Plants adding equipment to an existing panel that's out of terminals
- OEMs splitting a machine into shippable sections
Common questions
- Can you build a daughter box for a panel you didn't design?
- Yes. Send photos of the existing panel and its drawings if you have them, and we'll match the numbering and the component style so the two look like one system.
- Is there a minimum order?
- No. Single boxes are common, and they're often the first project someone runs with us before a larger panel.
